the post-grouchy man Lately I have made a conscious decision to stop being grumpy. It’s been a nice change, and surprisingly easy to achieve. The ripple effects have been terrific. I’m running and working out again. I’m trying new and better-for-me foods, and finding them delicious. I’m trying to add a bit more adventure to my life, and to Felicia’s. This weekend, after a spicy roller derby bout in Paso, we took a little walk on the Avila coast. I must have been a little shifty — I was nervous, who wouldn’t be — because Felicia asked me if I’d brought her here to tell her I’d done something wrong. Did you kill a cop? she asked, laughing. Then I asked her to be my wife. She said yes! The happy ripple effects continue. Today Felicia is working, and is trying not to look at her bare ring finger. The ring that I slipped onto it on Saturday night was just a tiny bit too big, and now it’s away for resizing. Meanwhile, I am spending Labor Day at my desk in our tidy, well-lit house, working on a half-sleeve tattoo design for Felicia. Love to have this finished and inked for her before our big day next year. Here’s the work in progress: Yes, that’s a pink cotton glove. Sexy, no? This particular design promises to be intricate and rather awesome. I’ll post progress snapshots as it grows. The base elements for the tattoo come from the sketch below, but there’s much, much more to be added. No Responses to “the post-grouchy man” Comment on this entry |
