Subzero fall

So this weekend -- not the coming weekend, but the one that expired last night -- found Reno hosting the annual Street Vibrations bash. Though the street we live on is a pretty solid residential area -- schools, old brick homes, college-student apartment buildings -- we ended up with an average of six Harleys roaring by every ten minutes. They should call next year's event Window Vibrations. Or Vibrating Curio Cabinet.

My dad was in town this weekend. He's from Alaska -- as am I, though I'm simply misplaced here -- and craves cool weather. On Friday, the night before he was to arrive, the temperature was, oh, I don't know, about 80 degrees or so. He arrived Saturday.

The temperature promptly dropped to a negative fourteen degrees.

Well, that's what it felt like.

Each time I throw a couple of <br> tags between these paragraphs I have to resist typing: <brrrrrrrrr>.
