Roadie
Went to Knott's Berry Farm -- or is it Farms? -- with the wife and in-laws on Friday. Wife's aunt gets a cop discount, gets us all into the park for cheap. If you consider twenty-three bucks cheap. We got there around one o'clock in the afternoon. It started raining at seven. We didn't leave. We stood in lines for rides that got closed down because of rain. We stood in lines for rubbery slices of pizza and watered-down sodas. We stood in line for funnel cakes. We left at nine something. I spent forty-six bucks so that the wife and I could stand in line for eight hours so we could spend more money on really bad food.
That was the day after Thanksgiving. We actually missed Thanksgiving. Spent it on the road. Which was pretty much fine by me. Drove home Saturday night to the chagrin of all of the in-laws, who swore we'd crash in the dark. But we did okay. The road was a big empty string in the dark. It snowed a little. The highway signs flashed SNOW AND ICE AHEAD CHAINS RECOMMENDED so constantly that we stopped and spent money on chains we didn't need. It stopped snowing as soon as I signed the credit card receipt.
