The OK International web site redesign presented an interesting challenge: how do you take four distinctly different engineering companies and merge them into a single, cohesively-branded and well-organized web presence? OK International, one of the four companies, was essentially folding its three sister companies into itself. They'd already solved the branding issue, with creative that merged elements of each of the four companies into a single, distinctive identity.
As a destination for an audience made up primarily of engineers, the site demanded, above all else, exceptional useability. Merging four companies' catalogs into a single library of products was difficult, but careful categorization yielded a simple-to-navigate hierarchy. The design needed to complement the organized information, not overwhelm it.
The result is a site whose simplicity and accessibility is underscored by an understated and almost elegant design.
