Terrain, located in Santa Barbara, California, is essentially an environmental P.R. firm -- they occupy a narrow niche, and excel in it.
This project, another collaboration with the Elation team, was simple, fast and enjoyable. My goal with the design was to give Terrain a rough-around-the-edges feel, something a little faded, a little familiar, something that looked almost like it had been recycled from old Quaker Oats boxes into a web site.
Desaturation and noise filtering, those were the buzzwords for this job. I also produced the finished site, retaining its tacked-up feel by displaying content in iframes. The finished product is also carried along by some wonderful photography provided by Terrain, and heavily manipulated by me.
